A concert of hidden messages, both the hopeful and sardonic. The Longy Conservatory Orchestra performs an orchestral repertoire featuring the United States anthem arranged by Stavinsky, the Marseillaise orchestrated by Bizet, Broadway selections from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and 1776, stirring music from John Adams’ Nixon in China, and the film score from Prokofiev’s first commission within the Soviet Union, Lieutenant Kijé.

This year, Longy's annual Septemberfest concert series will be themed around Music and Politics. For the closing concert, Ketti Jane (MM '16) will perform Pat Nixon's aria, "This is Prophetic" from John Adams' 1987 opera Nixon in China.
